The book

A book in the making

A book about Rolf Taraldset is being planned. The craft came from Bjarne, who apprenticed with Daniel Hagerup, who had it from Oberammergau — and it goes on every year: some fifteen hundred students so far, across Norway, across Scandinavia, and over the water to Decorah, Iowa.

That is the line the book will follow: baroque and rococo, acanthus and dragon, relief and portrait — all drawn by hand and cut by hand, in the workshop on the forest holding at Taraldset. The work carries on while it is written.

It takes the time it takes. If you want to know when it arrives, say so.
